The weather - as those of us who live in Ireland know very well - can be a fickle creature.

Indeed it is not unusual to experience sunshine and rain in the same place at the same time - especially in summer.

But it is infinitely more dramatic when this happens at the site of a Neolitihic monument estimated to be at least 5,000 years old - and maybe even significantly older.

Poulnabrone Dolmen in the Burren in County Clare has weathered many's the storm in its time. So it's hardly likely to be over-troubled by a summer sun shower.

But what a timeless image in a truly timeless location.
